With a passion for supporting mothers and their families across the North East of England, Amanda Dunbar has dedicated over 15 years to specialising in breastfeeding and infant feeding. She earned her IBCLC credential in 2010, having previously served as a La Leche League breastfeeding counsellor since 2006.
📚 Professional Background
- NHS service: Spent a decade at City Hospitals Sunderland, where she trained and mentored peer supporters and ran a specialist breastfeeding clinic.
- Award-winning support: In 2013, Amanda was honoured with the prestigious ABM Pam’s Prize for her outstanding contributions to breastfeeding support in Tyne and Wear.
- Recognised by the local community: In 2019, she was presented with a scrapbook tribute celebrating the hundreds of babies she helped to breastfeed during her NHS tenure.

A mother of four (two daughters and two sons) and now a proud grandmother, Amanda draws on her own experiences of both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. Her personal journey inspires her commitment to helping each mother feel supported, informed, and confident.
